After two weeks or so of no students running around, the last thing you want to be thinking about is pulling together an appropriate outfit for the first day back. Last-minute choices are a no-no.

What can you wear as a teacher?
Even though every school is different, the general consensus for teachers is that they have to dress smart (just like the pupils.) Suits, long skirts and dresses are actively worn. As a rule of thumb, most colours and patterns are generally allowed. As long as it's not an inappropriate length and not a lot of skin is on show.
Footwear follows the same pattern with no inappropriate footwear allowed (flip flops and eight-inch heels). Sensible heels are often seen in the classroom, as well as comfy trainers for PE staff.
What are teachers not allowed to wear?
According to Reddit, denim jeans are a big no-no when it comes to teaching and you should opt for smart cotton or linen trousers instead. Many teachers have admitted that they should be able to wear jeans as attitudes to teaching have changed in recent years (especially during the coronavirus pandemic) and children are used to more relaxed teaching techniques.
