Lip liner has become such a staple in my routine that I don't know where I'd be without it. So, when I saw the hype around the Wonderskin Lip Stain, the top bestselling product in Amazon's lip stains and tints category? Well, I just had to investigate.
I've heard massive things about the Lip Tint after seeing it all over my feeds on Instagram and TikTok. And, the viral lip product has been endorsed by none other than Hailey Bieber, Kerry Washington, Eva Longoria, Olivia Wilde and Doja Cat.
Along with its 22,000 reviews on Amazon, the product itself seems promising. One customer referred to the Wonderskin Lip Stain as being a 'dream product', commenting that they've never liked lipsticks due to their heavier feel. However, after trying the peel-off mask, the Charming shade gave them a natural rosy, berry coloured tint with no constant reapplication required.
It applies at first with an unmistakable blue tint, only to peel off later and reveal up to 18 wearable shades that are said to stay on all day. The multi-purpose product can be applied as a lasting lipliner, or as an all-over natural flush of colour that doesn't transfer. The best part about it is that you don't have to constantly reapply your lippy all day.
But first and foremost, I tried it for myself and asked our Closer contributor, Carys Wigley, whether she thought the Lip Stain was really worth it. Here's what we had to say...

"I tried the Wonderskin Lip Stain in the shade 'Hush', and it gives major '90-inspired vibes. With one or two layers, it reveals a warm, nutmeg brown, and with a few layers, it gives a deep, russet red, so it's really buildable and versatile. There's no transfer, and it's great for a little boost of confidence on no-makeup days. I really enjoyed the initial colour payoff - it was super pigmented."
Pros
- Strong, pigmented colour when left on for long enough that fades to a more natural shade
- A massive range of colours - there's up to 18 different shades
- Buildable formula you can customised to your desired intensity
- Vegan-friendly formula
Cons
- I found it can stick to dry patches on lips - we recommend exfoliating first!
- Hard to match a colour up, can look different each time you apply

"The Wonderskin Lip Stain definitely lives up to the hype. ‘Whimsical’ is the perfect, rosy, ‘just bitten’, lip colour. It’s very ‘your lips but better’. I put it on in the morning, and it’s still there in the evening. Great for me as a lazy girl who hates reapplying lipstick – I just top up with a lip balm or lip gloss throughout the day."
Pros
- Lasts up to 8 hours depending on what you are eating and drinking. I don’t ever feel the need to reapply
- A massive range of colours - there's up to 18 different shades
- Lovely colour, really pigmented
- Vegan-friendly formula
Cons
- Not great for on the go due to the blue mask while the stain works
- Can stick to dry patches on lips

Wonderskin Lip Stain: Our Honest Review
Samantha Price, Senior Commercial Content Writer
"I actually bought the Wonderskin Wonder Blading Lip Stain after being #influenced by Carys Wigley, our SEO Content Strategist and Closer Contributor. I bought it last month during the Amazon Spring Sale in the shade Hush, a shade that's supposedly new to the range.
For the purpose of the review, I left the Wonderskin Lip Stain on much longer than required and layered it a few times to achieve the highest-impact colour. On the first try, I achieved a warm brown; however, due to layering, it came out a lot redder than expected in my review - although I wasn't mad about it!
It first applies as a blue mask that you later wipe or peel off to reveal the finished shade. (The blue mask is giving cyber goth glam). But, I'm so glad Carys mentioned the tingling sensation on application to save the panic of thinking I was having an allergic reaction, too!

Honestly, I was immediately impressed with the colour payoff. The finished shade reminded me of a French-girl lip shade, reminiscent of Clinique's Black Honey. As stated, you can build it up for a high-impact colour as I did or leave it on for less time for a more natural-looking, warm brown. It really reminds me of a '90s-inspired lipstick shade.

There are a few things to be said: one, I wish the brush was more precise; two, it does cling to dry patches; and three, it wasn't as long-lasting as I thought, but that might be just me. I know Carys found it lasted ages - so people might have differing levels of success with this.
Having said that, I can't. stop. applying. it. Ever since I first tested it, I've been wearing it almost every day. I found it really enhances your lip shade, giving you the appearance of plumper, fuller lips. It's practically a lip blush treatment on a budget. I really loved the initial effect it gave, I do just wish it lasted longer."

"I work as an SEO Content Strategist here at Bauer Media, alongside Closer online, which is perfect for me as I love all things beauty, fashion and am partial to a bit of celebrity goss and reality TV!
I have owned the Wonderskin Wonder Blading Lip Stain for about 6 months now after seeing it all over TikTok. I use it on my no-makeup-makeup days or when I’m going out, as it does not budge. If I’m doing a more glam makeup look, I use lip liner to really define my lips and a gloss to add shine.
When applying, I tend to layer the product. I swipe on my initial layer, wait 30 seconds and then do another layer. I repeat this about 4 times and leave it on for about a minute (but I find the longer, the better) for a deep, rosy colour.
It does tingle on application, this should deffo be noted down somewhere, as I thought I was having an allergic reaction on my first use! I’ve lost the lip activator but haven’t seen any difference in the colour when taking off with the activator. I use a cotton pad to remove the stain rather than peeling it.

My lips are quite pigmented already, but my lip line is very light, making my lips look smaller than they are. This lip stain really enhances my lips and fills in the lip line naturally. The formula isn’t drying however, it can stick to any dry patches on the lips. My only negative is it’s not very nice for on the go, I’ve had a lot of weird looks on the train with my blue lips!"

Wonderskin Lip Stain: Before And After
Sam uses the new shade Hush to add a dramatic pop of colour. Once the lip stain peeled off, it revealed a deep, russet red and faded to a natural lip colour with warm, nutmeg brown undertones.

Carys uses the shade Whimsical to enhance her natural lip colour and add a tint of colour. Here's what the lip stain looks like after it's peeled off, revealing a lovely, warm rose shade.

Now, constantly having to reapply your lipstick is a distant memory...
