When a good dupe to a product comes along, it's like finding gold. I've recently discovered a Laura Mercier Setting Powder drugstore dupe for a fraction of the cost. At £12.95, it's an absolute steal and saves a massive £25.55 on the Laura Mercier version.

No7 recently launched their brand new Pro Artist collection to help you create any look from day to night, just in time for the festive season. Along with a range of nourishing lipsticks and lip oils, a glowy cream bronzer, liquid blushes a primer and more, one of their newest releases is the Set The Scene Loose Setting Powder, £12.95. Available in a versatile translucent shade, this finely milled powder effortlessly blurs imperfections. The oil-absorbing formula melts into the skin giving an immaculate, soft-focus effect.

I was lucky enough to receive the new range a few weeks ago, and after testing out the powder day in and day out ever since, I can confirm that it's just as good as the Laura Mercier one I've been obsessed with for years.

I used a light hand when dusting it across my face and T-zone. I blended out the pigment using a fluffy brush, and lo and behold, I was left with a gorgeous, blurred complexion. The finish is ever-so-slightly heavier than that of my beloved Laura Mercier powder, but it certainly isn't flat.

I love a semi-dewy finish, which is exactly the look I achieved with a glowy base and this mattifying powder on top. While I could carry on, I'll let my selfie take it from here.

Overall, there isn't much difference between both products except for the price, in my opinion. If you do want to invest in a long-lasting luxury powder then the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder is a perfect choice. But if you're just after a purse-friendly powder to set your makeup in place, then the No7 dupe works just as well. And I'm not the only one who thinks so - these reviews speak for themselves.

"I really love this product," wrote one reviewer. The texture is so fine that it doesn't look like you've used powder, yet it makes my makeup last all day. The pot is large and has a luxurious look, and the price is fantastic too."

Another added, "This setting powder is very fine and absorbs oil to help create a flawless, soft-focus finish. Kept makeup looking better for longer."

I truly think I've found my new holy grail makeup product. Try it for yourself and thank me later.
