I tried Aldi’s £3.49 Olaplex dupes and here are my honest thoughts

They've gone viral...

Anyone that’s anyone has heard about the wonders of Olaplex hair products. They work hard to repair and strengthen damaged locks and make sure you’re living your best hair life. The only downside is that they’re on the spenny side.

So, when we heard the news that Aldi was bringing out a VERY similar product line that promised all the same things, we ran to grab them immediately. Here are our very honest thoughts…

What do the Bonded products actually do?

Packed with hair-loving ingredients, the bonded pre-wash treatment, shampoo and conditioner all help to repair, rejuvenate, and hydrate damaged tresses.

Benefits include a reduction in the look of split ends and frizz, strengthening of the hair shaft leading to less breakage, detangling of strands and soothing hair cuticles and reducing flyaways.

Sounds great right? Let’s give it a go ourselves.

How was the Aldi Bonded range honestly?

Post bonded range hair GLOW

Tested by style writer Annie Milroy

Starting off with slightly damp strands, I combed through the pre- wash treatment and left on for ten minutes. The product smelt amazing and felt very luxe too. I headed to the shower and rinsed out with the shampoo.

The product lathered really easily (which is always a sign of a good quality shampoo) and a little went such a long way. Both products didn’t leave any residue and washed out instantly, leaving my strands silky smooth.

I followed by applying the bonded conditioner and made sure to apply it generously to the ends of my hair (goodbye split ends and breakage). And left to work its magic for a minute or so and then rinsed out.

After leaving to dry in my beloved Aquis hair towel, I blasted with a hair dryer and instantly my hair didn’t feel dehydrated or brittle. The finished results had left my hair looking healthy and glossy and if even possible, strong. Plus, the shine was next level, something that I rarely find from one use of a shampoo and conditioner!

Overall, I absolutely loved this range. While I can’t say if they are an absolute match for the iconic Olpalex prods, I honestly think they are such amazing value for money. Did I mention they are £3.49 each?!

When I say RUN to your nearest Aldi and don’t walk, I'm not joking…
