We’ve all heard about people getting together at work, but how many of us would actually do it?

Some might think the idea of getting together with someone you work with a bit awkward, but a massive 80 per cent of people said they would, according to a new survey.

Dating website Flirt.com, who ran the survey, said: “We spend such a large proportion of our lives at work so we wanted to find out what our singles actually thought about getting together with a colleague.

“What we found is that most people have thought about someone at work at some point, and many more have acted upon it.”

The survey revealed that, out of 2,000 men and women asked, 73 per cent of women won’t just settle for anyone at the office, saying the more senior the role, the better.

61 per cent of those women also said that they find successful men the most attractive. On the other hand, most of the men asked said that a romance with a junior member of staff was much more appealing.

Despite the old cliché, the office Christmas party was voted the place people would like least to hook up with a colleague, because they wouldn’t want other staff members to see.

And, just as we suspected, almost everyone asked said that would keep their office fling a secret until they were sure it was serious.

What do you think? Would you get involved with somebody at work?
