A graphic video of a woman publicly punishing a man who apparently raped her 13-year-old daughter has been leaked onto the internet.
In the 37-second clip, which has since been removed from YouTube, the woman takes a cane and flogging the man - who is tied up on the floor - so badly that he needed to be hospitalised.
However officials have insisted that the woman could face serious charges for her actions, telling the Daily Star:
"People should not take the law into their own hands even if they believe they are right to do so.
“They must leave it to the police to act. In this case, we hope that the woman and the others seen in the video will surrender themselves before they are arrested.”
The woman's daughter, barely a teenager, was reportedly raped several times by the 28-year-old man and another suspect in a house in Kampung Budi, Tawang.
The man, who was treated for injuries to his head and body, was later arrested along with another suspect, aged 22, in connection with the rape of the woman's 13-year-old daughter.
