Thinking of having an eyelash lift treatment? Look at how bad this one turned out first

Everyone loves to get glammed up for a night out; hair, makeup, a cute outfit… but after Layla Kilany, from Essex decided to have an eyelash lift treatment she soon realised it was a bad idea when she had a shocking allergic reaction.

The 25-year-old from Halstead in Essex decided to get her eyelashes done after thinking she might not need to use mascara anymore. She opted for an eyelash lift treatment it straightens your natural eyelashes so they appear curled and then tints them to give the illusion that you're wearing mascara.

Layla went through the normal procedure of having a patch test done on her skin 24 hours before the treatment and her skin seemed fine. So the following day she had the £25 beauty procedure done at her local beauty salon.

However, the next day (after a night out) she woke up and realised she couldn't open her eyes. Reliving the horrible ordeal, she said: "I had the patch test done 24 hours before the treatment and everything seemed fine.

"It didn't hurt at all and looked really nice, the lashes were almost too long as they were touching my eyebrows.

"During my night out, one of them started hurting and going really red but I just put that down to alcohol. But the next morning I woke up and could barely see. I was terrified."

Throughout the following week she visited Colchester Eye Clinic three times and received eye creams and ointments to help heal her eyes. She was also forced to take a seven days off work so she could recover fully.

Even though Layla complained to the beauty salon, where she got the treatment, she admitted she doesn't hold it against them: "I have spoken to the clinic – I don't blame them at all because they did the test and were really apologetic.

"I just want to make sure that other people really think twice before they have this done."

Layla, who naturally has long eyelashes is fearful that she might lose her real ones following the allergic reaction. She explained: "I have to put warm water on my eyelashes and can see that they're falling out. It's really scary, I think all my eyelashes are going to fall out.

"Everyone says that they will grow back but I am really worried. I would not recommend people do this, I don't ever want to change the way I look again.

"I want to appreciate the looks I have now… All my friends are saying I have the worst luck ever and I agree."
