Care home worker Jennifer Lyons was in her home when a 300,000-volt bolt of lightning hit her satellite dish, causing her house to catch fire.
The lightening was so powerful, it forced switched to come out of the walls, blew out hot water and stopped 49-year-old Jennifer’s Internet and phone lines to stop working.
Luckily, Jennifer was wearing a pair of rubber flip-flops, which protected her from being electrocuted as the lightning travelled through her home.
Speaking to a UK newspaper, Jennifer said: "It was like a bomb. I was knocked back.”

"There was debris everywhere.”
Jennifer, who is from Chippenham, Wiltshire, added: "A fireman said it was one of the most unusual cases he'd seen."
"You think you'd be safe from lightning in your own home."

The UK was hit by intense thunderstorms last week after a period of hot weather.
3,500 bolts of lightning hit the UK during the spectacular thunderstorm.
Lightning strikes are still very rare, and cases such as Jennifer’s are a once in a lifetime occurance.
