Ashleigh Wade was so desperate to have a baby, she allegedly slit her childhood friend's throat before carving the baby out of her belly.
Wade was said to be visiting her friend Angelikque Sutton on Friday, when she unexpectedly attacked her before reportedly calling her boyfriend Angel Praylow to the bloody scene.
Praylow, who immediately called the police, was found the scene of the crime clutching the newborn, while Wade allegedly screamed, "It's my baby!".
According to reports Praylow thought his girlfriend Wade was pregnant, and had been posting pictures of sonograms and baby girl clothes on his Facebook page for months.
Believing that her due date was November 15, he took to Facebook that day, posting: "She's not ready to come out yet".
However when his girlfriend called him to the Bronx address on Friday afternoon, he immediately contacted authorities.
A source described the bloody scene to the NY Post, revealing:
"The placenta was on the floor and the perp had cut the cord herself".
Sutton and her baby were taken to hospital, were Sutton was pronounced dead.
Thankfully the baby survived.
Wade was taken into custody at the scene and is being held for observation at Jacobi Medical Centre, pending charges.
