Woman sets world record for fastest 100m run in heels

We’ve all had a go at running in our heels for the bus, or to get to the chippy for a 3am snack while our friends sweet-talk the taxi driver into waiting for us.

But Julia Plecher from Germany knocks all of our efforts into a cocked hat as she set the Guinness World Record for the fasted 100 metres run in high heels this week.

Dressed in a spangly gold dress and sky-high stilettos, Julia managed to finish the course in an incredible 14.531 seconds – that’s only a few seconds more than Usain Bolt, and he very rarely wears heels on the track!
