We don't think "oops" quite covers this one.

A woman has reportedly lost her custom-made (yup, it's a one-of-a-kind diamond that her husband-to-be designed himself!) engagement ring at an H&M store in New York City this week.

Apparently the 23-year-old took off the ring as she tried on clothes - presumably gloves, since we can't think of any other clothing item that requires a ringless hand - and forgot to put the bling back on her finger when she left.

Which is no small thing, considering her partner shelled out $10,000 (or £5965.81) for it!

A few minutes after leaving the store she realised what she had done, but the ring was already missing when she returned.

CCTV shows a couple of women going into the dressing room after her, but there's absolutely no proof they took the ring. And, while police are investigating, it seems unlikely they'll be able to track it down.

Zoinks!

So here's what we've learned from this; don't take off your engagement ring - especially not in a public dressing room. It doesn't end well for anyone involved.
