Jonathan Novick, who has a type of dwarfism called achondroplasia, moved to New York from a small town a year ago.

But while he enjoys the buzz of the big city, one thing Jonathan has experienced is a great deal of attention due to his condition.

People take pictures of him on the subway, call him names, and after a while Novick decided to make his film 'Don't look down on me,' asking people to watch how they treat others.

In the six minute film, Jonathan is seen walking around the city, as people regularly shout at him.

'What is he' asks one child, while a man shouts from his van: 'hey short stuff.'

In a restaurant, one man tells him he looks like another dwarf actor (who he looks noting like, bar his size), and then later asks if he can take his photo.

Signing off the short film, Jonathan asks people: 'The next time you see someone who is different from you, think about what their day might be like, think about all the events of their lives leading up to that point…then think about what part of their day do you want to be.'
