The security footage shows a man attempting to step into an elevator in Gyeonggi Province, South Korea.
But, unbeknownst to him, the elevator has begun to malfunction - putting his life in danger.
As the man’s foot lands on the elevator floor, the machine continues to move upward, causing him to stumble and fall.
Lying half in and half out of the door, it seems as if the hapless victim is about to be sliced in half as ceiling rushes towards him.
But, in a split second decision, he suddenly manages to slither free, dropping back to the safety of the room below.

The footage has, so far, been viewed over 800,000 times on LiveLeak.com.
According to reports, the man managed to escape without any major injuries.
South Korean news service SBS added that the frightening accident occurred because the elevator, which was fitted in 1999, was not fitted with the required movement sensors.
