Jack Sanderson, from Knutsford, was riding his motorbike in the Peak District when the accident occurred.
Speaking to ITV News, he said: 'I was going round the corner and I was going wider and wider and wider. When I saw the first bit of the car I knew I was in trouble. I chose to go off the cliff, rather than hit the car - it was the best thing I could do. I thought that was me dead.'
But far from showing off about his incredible near-death experience, Jack says he posted the video online to act as 'a warning to others as much as anything….If you are going to be stupid things like this will happen.'
The footage shows Jack and his two companions speeding round a windy country lane before Jack decides to overtake his friends and ride into the other lane. Quickly he is confronted by a silver car that he narrowly misses, choosing to plummet off the ridge.
A few seconds after landing on the ground, Jack can be seen picking up his camera and climbing back to road level.
When his friends ask if he is OK, he simply replies: 'Seem to be, I think my fingers are broken.'
The crash was captured on a GoPro head camera, often worn by cyclists and bikers. The video has so far gathered 60,000 views on YouTube.
