When Mike King was young, he swore to his father he would get him a 1957 Chevy Bel-Air for his 57th birthday.
But unlike most pipe dreams, Mike actually followed through with his plan, surprising his father with the turquoise vehicle he has always wanted- but could never afford.
Growing up in a poor family, dad Roger always wanted the Chevy, but couldn't afford a car. Sharing his dream with his young son, Roger had never imagined that in the future he would be the proud owner of the vintage classic years into the future.
Roger travelled to New Hampshire two years earlier to pick up the car, and then stored it in his garage until his father's 57th birthday rolled around.
It's clear from the footage quite how much the gift means to his Dad, who immediately wells up at the sight of the auto.
Righto…we're off to try and top that for Father's Day this Sunday. Wish us luck!
