You might think military men would be more likely to enjoy a spot of rock or rap music, but this latest video reveals that their true music tastes are surprisingly twee.

In a video of Russian military cadets during a training session, a group of young soldiers can be seen undertaking a drill while chanting the lyrics to 90s pop classic ‘Barbie Girl.’

The Aqua hit, which debuted in May 1997, is an unusual choice for the Russian training drill, but the soldiers certainly seem to have the song down to the very last word.

In the YouTube clip, soldiers can be seen smiling as they chant the pop song as loud as they can, while marching across a playground.

Barbie Girl was number one in the U.K. for three weeks in 1997, after being released by Danish-Norwegian group Aqua.

All we can say is that the 90s has a lot to answer for.
