A small single-engine plane, which was carrying skydiving students and their instructor, was travelling across New Jersey, USA, when it suddenly ran out of power.

The pilot was forced to make a daring emergency landing onto a busy motorway in Stafford Township.

CCTV footage of the landing has now been released by police, showing the plane expertly gliding onto the grass-covered reservation in the middle of the road.

Despite coming VERY close to several cars, no other vehicles were caught up in the crash landing.

Police said the instructor onboard suffered a cut to his arm.

But, incredibly, nobody else was injured.

According to Stafford Township Police Department, officers at the scene closed the left lanes on Route 72 in both directions for approximately 90 minutes while the scene remained under investigation.

The incident is now being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration, which regulates civilian air travel in the States.
