Can you imagine being raised in a cage?

Imagine, if you can, never experiencing the outside world? Never feeling the warm sun on your back, or the cool breeze on your face.

Can you perhaps fathom never feeling the rain falling onto your skin? Or the feeling of grass beneath your feet?

Imagine never getting the chance to run, or play, or jump.

Struggling? Well, that’s exactly what life was like for these beagle puppies.

Theses dogs were raised in a laboratory and spent most of their days locked up in cages.

Thankfully, some volunteers decided to free them from their cruel prisons, and give them their first experience of the outside world.

One of the volunteers reveals in the video: ‘We’re getting rid of their federal ID numbers and giving them a name… They now have an identity which the lab deprived them of for all these years.’

Some of the puppies looked nervous as they experienced their first natural sunlight and peered out into the big, wide world.

Pretty soon, they started frolicking and playing, discovering this amazing new world of immense love and possibility that they had been deprived of.

The puppies were later found cuddling in a box, proving that habits- though forced- die hard.

The volunteer explained: ‘They lived in a crate their whole life, now they’re back in what they think is a crate where they feel safe.’
