In January 2012, ambulance teams were called to the scene of a brutal domestic attack - where Melissa Dohme has been stabbed 30 times by her ex boyfriend.
One of the first on the scene was Cameron Hill, who described that the victim was so drenched in blood you couldn’t tell her blonde hair colour.

At just 20 years of age, Melissa had been stabbed in the face, arms, back and shoulders by her former partner.
Her condition was so serious, that Melissa was airlifted to hospital - flatlining four times, suffering a stroke and enduring nerve damage to her face.
And this week, the paramedic who saved her life on that fateful day, proposed to Melissa at a Tampa Bay Rays baseball game - in front of dozens of spectators.

As Melissa was about to throw the first ball of the game, Cameron came onto the pitch with a ball - with the words ‘Will you marry me?’ written on it.
Getting down on one knee and producing a diamond ring, Cameron asked Melissa to be his wife - and she of course accepted his proposal.
The couple began a relationship shortly after Melissa’s attack in 2012, with Cameron sticking by Melissa throughout her difficult rehabilitation process.
We LOVE a happy ending! Watch the footage above - and just try to stay dry eyed, we dare you!
