The brave 26-year-old, who volunteered to treat the US’s first Ebola victim Thomas Duncan, is filmed speaking to her doctors during her transfer from Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas to a hospital in Bethesda, Maryland.

“Come to Maryland everybody,” she says. “I love you guys.”

Ms Pham then thanks her doctor for volunteering to treat her during her frightening illness.

The nurse caught the virus after treating Liberian-born Thomas Duncan, but was quick to receive medical treatment once she started showing symptoms.

Ms Pham has so far responded well to treatment, and doctors treating her hope she will continue to fight the disease with success.

Since Nina’s diagnosis, a third person has been diagnosed with Ebola in the United States.

Another health worker who treated Mr Duncan was diagnosed with the disease, but unfortunately flew on a commercial flight whilst displaying very early symptoms of the illness.

Amber Vinson flew from Colorado to Texas hours before being hospitalised for the disease.

President Obama has reassured US citizens that the government has operations in place to deal with an outbreak of Ebola.

Back in the UK, screening is now under way at Heathrow airport in an attempt to prevent the disease from entering the country.
