The news is usually packed with misery, so it’s about time we had a happy real-life tale to lift our spirits.
So we were overjoyed when we spotted this heart-warming story, which saw five-year-old Danielle Koning finally get her fairytale ending.
The princess-obsessed girl from Grand Rapids, Michigan, had her final adoption hearing after two years as a foster child, and to make the day extra magical, eight of her favourite Disney heroines turned up to support Danielle and celebrate with her.
Danielle has been living as a foster child with new-parents Sarah and Jim since March 2014.
But, last week on the 8th of June, the family attended a hearing which would allow the parents to formally adopt Danielle - along with another one-year-old girl named Neveah.
To make the day as special as the one she’d been dreaming of for years, the girl’s social worker asked her colleague to turn up dressed as Danielle’s idol – Cinderella.
But, once her other colleagues got wind of the situation, they decided not to stop at Cinderella, but to fill up the court room with a whole host of Walt Disney’s famous Princesses.
Eight dressed-up ladies turned up to the life-changing event, including The Little Mermaid’s Ariel and Frozen’s Elsa.
But no Disney story is complete without a Prince Charming of course, so he made an appearance too!
And it didn’t stop there, as even the judge Patricia Gardner came in a Snow White costume, and referred to the event as a “Princess hearing.”
Aww!
In the video, you can see a VERY excited Danielle taking part in the fun, dressing up as quite the princess herself, having no idea before that the day would have this extra magical touch.
Isn’t she adorable?
This has made our week – we can’t imagine just how special it made little Danielle feel!
Mum Sarah toldABC news:
"The hearing is definitely a celebration that the kids now have forever families. And it shows the love and compassion that our case workers have.
"We have been a real family, but to not have that looming over our head anymore is a pretty amazing feeling."
