Gary Haynes, who plays on the football team at Manvel High School, is shown throwing the ball into the air, then racing 40-yards to catch it as it falls.

The Vine video has been shared more than 46,600 times since it's posting.

Teenager Gary said: 'I can't believe it. My whole life changed in less than five seconds.'

'I wasn't expecting it to go viral like that. I just expected my friends to see it and that would be all, but then people started contacting me left and right on Twitter and Instagram.'

He said he got the idea for the stunt after watching a professional footballer doing the same, and decided to try it out.

But even close friends and family of the student were sceptical the footage was real - with his head coach Kirk Martin making him re-enact the run to prove it.

And the youngster now says he wants to get even faster, to increase his chances of playing in the NFL. He adds that his dream would be to play for the Houston Texans team.

Something tells us Gary will not be short of college offers when the time comes.
