For every animal lover out there, the concept of many creatures never getting the chance to experience life in the wild is a horrendous one.
But this is unfortunately the reality for many, as plenty of animals live out their lives in cages, laboratories and in confined spaces around the globe.
Whether they're being cruelly tested on, kept in dodgy zoos or being used for produce, many animals don't get the opportunity to feel the grass beneath their feet and the wind in their fur.
