Having a bad day? Well this clip will cheer you up no end.
Taken from the Discovery channel, it unveils the secret life of the Chipmunk, those North American rodents whose cheeks can stretch up to three times the size of their head.
As the Chipmunk in question rushes around to gather as many nuts as he can before winter hits, he stuffs his pouches until they’re fit to burst.
But he has to move quickly, as fellow Chipmunks are known to swoop in and steal the rodent’s stash at the last moment, meaning the poor guy would have to start from scratch once more.
Sure enough, just as we’ve watched the Chipmunk fill his burrow with lots of nuts for his hibernation period, another Chipmunk seizes his opportunity, forcing the little guy to defend his stash.
