Susan Patton appeared on the Today show on Thursday, where she said women should be feminine, greet their husbands with a smile at the door and make sure they have dinner on the table for him.

'There's nothing wrong with a woman saying to husband: "Honey, would you like a drink, what would you like for dinner, what can I do for you now?"'
Host Sylvia Jeffreys looked horrified by Patton's claims, replying: 'I feel like you're suggesting that we should be waiting on them.'

But Patton was unapologetic about her claims, continuing: 'Most men who are the primary bread winners in their household, I think they're entitled to respect when they walk in the door, I think they're entitled to courtesy, appreciation.'
Male host Steafnovic seemed to enjoy the exchange, adding that he thought Patton was 'one of the wisest women in the world.'
Many Twitter users were not amused by Patton's opinions, with one writing: 'Pardon me but F**K [sic] off. I'm an electrician and extremely proud of it. Nothing feminine or traditional…'
However there were some who were in agreement, with one wife tweeting: 'I do this everyday for my husband, just showing an interest in his day, its not archaic!!'
