Stinson Hunter slams vigilante arrested over ‘paedophile’ attack

A man has been arrested on suspicion of vigilante assaults on a number of men, police have confirmed.

The 25-year-old man from Wigan is being held in connection with attacks on two men, who were allegedly attempting to meet up with underage girls.

Police say the first assault occurred on Friday evening, when a 19-year-old man arranged to meet a 14-year-old in a church car park in the area.

Upon his arrival, the man was filmed being attacked by a group of men who accused him of being a paedophile.

The man managed to escape, but was then sent messages threatening to make the footage public if he didn’t pay off his attackers.

On Saturday, a similar incident occurred when a 25-year-old man attempted to meet another 14-year-old. He was set upon by one in a group, who knocked out two of his teeth.

‘This is why I have nothing to do with any copycat groups - this isn’t the first time ‘dodgy’ copycat groups have taken something important and used it for their own gain.’

Both individuals went to the police and were charged with grooming.
