Airman Aaron Vergara hadn't seen his girlfriend for eight months, and it appears absence really does make the heart grow fonder.

Proving romance is far from dead, Vergara enlisted the help of eight fellow passengers on his flight from Hawaii to Miami, to give his waiting girlfriend a rose.

Adding a purple rose to the bunch, Vergara can be seen explaining to his blushing bride-to-be -(not that she knows this yet!), that each rose 'represents a month they were apart'.

Vergara adds the final rose

He then gets on his knees, and presents his surprised and delighted girlfriend with a ring, adding:

"I've travelled halfway around the world and haven't found a girl like you.

"I can't live without you. You complete me."

She said yes!

The heartwarming video has amassed 155k views since being posted at the beginning of the month, with Vergara adding:

"I had not seen my girlfriend in 8 months, so I decided to give her a surprise and I asked some volunteers from my flight going from Hawaii to Miami to give her one rose for each month that we had been apart from each other and then I proposed.

She loved it! I just want to thank each one of the awesome people that helped me to make this proposal so special, including the lady taking professional pictures and the lady filming the moment. God bless you, I'm eternally grateful to all of you! =)"

Aw bless!
