Jack Hyer, 22, from Whitefish, Montana didn’t bother with the usual getting down on one knee thing, he did something extra special for girlfriend Rebecca Strellnauer.

Perhaps the most amazing this is that after Jack had hiss first date with Rebecca in 2010, he was so certain that he was going to propose to her that he spent the next four years preparing for that moment.

He planned to do a lot of travelling and so he combined his travels with his planned proposal and filmed himself lip-syncing ‘I’m Gonna Be (500 miles) by The Proclaimers.

Jack’s travels saw him go to China, Turkey, Cambodia and Israel among many other countries, but his ultimate goal of proposing to Rebecca was always at the back of his mind.

Rebecca and Jack graduated last week and at a family dinner to celebrate he told everyone he wanted to show them his graduation slideshow. He of course instead showed them his epic travel video.

She looks like she can’t quite believe what’s happening, but then Jack pulls out a ring and proposes. Rebecca said yes, how could she not after the effort Jack went to?

Speaking of his amazing proposal method, Jack said: “I’ve been on many adventures. I’ve travelled on an elephant, on camel-back, hiked to the lowest point of the earth and I’ve gotten to see some of the highest.

“but the best adventure I’ve had is loving Becca.”
