Yup, we're serious.
In November 2013, reddit user Anndddyyyy drunkenly made some predictions about the future of the digital currency, Bitcoin.
He was so very, very confident in his predictions, that he said he’d eat a hat with ketchup if he was wrong.
He was wrong.
But, rather than (like anyone else would) back out of the bet, he decided to go through with his promise, apologising to Reddit users for taking so long to get round to it.
"I decided that I would actually go through with eating the hat… sorry it took me so long to get around to it."
The video is (WE KID YOU NOT) over 45 minutes long, so we recommend just skipping your way through if you actually want to watch this moment take place:
And, just in case you were wondering, Anndddyyyy has explained: "I did it in 3 phases. I had every intention of doing it all in one meal until a friend of mine who's in nursing school expressed genuine concern because the digestive system doesn't break down cotton.
"My stomach definitely felt 'off' after each time and it gave me a weird headache. I didn't notice any hat pieces in my poo so maybe she was wrong?"
If you don't fancy watching the entire video, here's a little taster (ha!) of what went down:
Lesson learned? Never make a promise you're not willing to follow through on.
