The world is on tenterhooks waiting for the royal baby - and Radio 2’s Chris Evans has now sent Twitter into an absolute meltdown.

The DJ suggested on his show this morning that the Duchess has gone into hospital in London and may be in the early stages of labour.

Eyewitnesses in the capital have also reported that they've seen armed police cars rushing towards St Mary's hospital (the very same hospital in which prince George was born) early this morning, not to mention roads being closed off in the area.

Meanwhile Sky News presenter Kay Burley tweeted this morning to say that Prince William had begun paternity leave from the Norfolk-based Bond Air Services, which runs East Anglian Air Ambulance service.

Could that mean what we think it means...?

Today is also the 89th birthday of the soon-to-arrive's new arrival's (phew!) great-grandmother the Queen.

If born today, Prince William and Kate's second child will share a birthday with the monarch.

However it’s worth remembering that Kate’s due date is April 25, so she could still have a little while to go.

Either way, we’re VERY excited!!!
