Megan Huntsman, 39, told police she either strangled or suffocated her babies immediately after they were born.
She then wrapped their bodies in a towel or a shirt, put them in plastic bags and then packed them inside boxes in the garage of her home in Utah, America.
According to a probable cause statement released by police, Huntsman said she gave birth to at least seven babies between 1996 and 2006.
All but one of the babies was born alive, she said.
During the interview with police, she was "unemotional and matter of fact", according to Pleasant Grove police Lt. Britt Smith.
Her motive for the killings have yet to be revealed, although police have said that the seventh baby was stillborn. DNA tests will be carried out on the remains of all seven babies to confirm that Huntsman was the mother.
Huntsman has three living children - one teenager and two adults - who also lived in the house at the time of the killings. The youngest child was born during the decade Huntsman told authorities she killed the other babies, leading many to question why she chose to allow this one to live.
In the meantime Huntsman, who was arrested Sunday on six counts of murder, will be held on $6 million bail - $1 million for each baby.
