Spring may have sprung, but that doesn’t mean it’s about to get any warmer.
Yup, it’s going to get even CHILLIER over the next few ays - with the Met Office warning of “widespread and locally sharp frost” across the country.
The current forecast on the official Met Office website reads: “Showers Wednesday, locally heavy and wintry, will clear Thursday morning.
“Cloud, rain and hill snow arriving later, clearing eastwards through Friday to further wintry showers. Often windy and rather cold.”
How delightful, eh?
Met Office forecaster Charlie Powell told The Mirror: “There is a bit of a change on the way this week as things turn a lot more unsettled as a cold front moves in.
“Temperatures on Wednesday will be back into single figures and by Friday we are looking at cold unstable air from the Arctic moving across the UK bringing more rain, hail, sleet and snow even to lower levels.”
Brr!
With average temperatures for March set to be below average, and the Met Office predicting snow is likely in the next 30 days, it’s no wonder everyone’s convinced we’re set for a White Easter.
We guess we’ll just have to keep our winter wardrobe rolling for a little while longer than we’d hoped.
Sigh.
Anyone else dreaming of floaty dresses and sandals, already?
