Parts of the country are set to bask in warmer temperatures this weekend, despite the frosty start to March.

That’s right – although you probably had to de-ice the car this morning, or shuffled to the train station wrapped up tightly – you could be enjoying a lovely 17 degrees come Sunday.

Has Spring finally sprung?
Has Spring finally sprung?

It’s likely that the cold will continue for the next couple of days, but by Friday many places are expected to be in the low teens.

This is just preparation for what it looking likely to be the warmest weekend of the year so far – we’re excited just thinking about it.

Our milder weather will be caused by the Jet stream, which is just south of the UK right now.

Over the course of the week, the jet stream will move North – bringing tropical-like air with it.

With Spring comes beautiful blooms – we can't wait!

While temperatures are not yet forecast to break into the 20s, it’s worth remembering that this won’t be the warmest weekend in March we’ve ever had.

In 2012 on the 27th Aboyne in Aberdeenshire had beautiful weather and reached 23.6C.

We can only hope and pray!
