Have you been, like us, singing the words “rain, rain, go away - come back again another day”?
Well, we have some good news for you; our chanting has worked.
And just in time for the weekend, too!
Richard Chapman, spokesperson for The Weather Network, told Closer Online: “Get set for a fine day on Saturday. Mist and fog patches will be clearing, and after a chilly start the day is going to be sunny and dry for most of us.”
Temperatures are predicted to reach 21C in the sunshine of central and eastern England - and it’s still a not-too-shabby 17C for the cloudier parts of western Ireland.
Richard continued: “Another chilly night to come on Saturday night, but then it’s set to be fine (with plenty of sunshine!) for most of Sunday.”
However, if you were hoping our good weather fortune would last into next week, we have some unfortunate news for you.
September’s going to be well back to its dull, grey and drizzly self.
He said: “The start of the working work looks more unsettled for Monday with some showers or longer spells of rain passing east as an area of low pressure develops over Scotland. Having said that, East Anglia and southeast England could stay dry until the evening.
“Low pressure drifts south on Wednesday bringing showers to the far south, but drier and brighter elsewhere with sunny spells. A risk of rain in Scotland and Ireland on Thursday, dry for other areas and then tending towards drier weather at the end of the week."
Sigh. Guess we better not pack our wet weather clothes away just yet then.
