Thankfully, from Thursday the country is starting to cool down a tad, as we’re hit by torrential rain and thunderstorms later this afternoon.
And following that absolute scorcher of a day on July the 1st, we think most people will welcome the slightly cooler weather.
The mercury hit 36.7C on Thursday in the hottest July on record. And if you were unlucky enough to be on the tube for some of that, you’ll have apparently been experiencing temperatures hotter than the Sahara desert.
While Thursday will still be a warm day of 26C, we will be hit by thunderstorms and rain across the country.
Most of the country will stay warm on Friday, reaching 27 or 28C, and this will increase at the weekend, with the South East reaching temperatures of 30C.
