We waited until the last day of the Bank Holiday, but it was definitely worth it, with most parts of the UK basking in beautiful sunshine yesterday.

And that gloriousness is set to continue! Yesterday some places reached 22C – and it could get even hotter.

If we do get the promised temperatures, it will make the UK hotter than Istanbul, which looks likely to shiver at under 10C this week.

How did you spend the warm bank holiday?

According to the Mirror, the Met Office said: “It will feel very pleasant in the sunshine all week, so enjoy it.

“The timing is very good for the second week of the Easter school holidays. Temperatures will take a little bit of a tumble on Tuesday and Wednesday.

“But on Thursday and Friday they will rise up again and we could see a new highest temperature.”

Will you be heading to the beach during the mini heatwave?

Phew – just in time for the weekend!

But if, like us, you noticed this morning was more than a bit chilly, the Met Office explained.

They said: “Overnight there is a risk of frost and gardeners need to be aware of that.

“It will be chilly, towns and cities will stay above freezing of 4 to 6C.”
