Following a chilly weekend in most places, the UK will warm up in coming days as temperatures reach 22C.

Temperatures in the south could reach 22C this week

According to Accuweather, the British isles will be the same temperature as North Africa’s Marrakesh, and will be a whopping 10C hotter than Istanbul in Turkey.

However, the Met Office have warned that it will mainly be the south and south east of the UK that will get the majority of the warm weather, stating that it will be ‘largely fine and increasingly warm across much of southern Britain.’

The midlands and wales will also enjoy some unseasonably temperate weather, while Scotland are in for more windy and unsettled conditions mid-week.

According to experts, the heat wave is due to a tropical air mass which has come over from Europe.

‘We could see -3C in some spots very early in the morning so there is going to be a very big difference between overnight and daytime temperatures’ Nicky Maxey of the Met Office warned.
