But it’s been predicted that the UK could be basking in a heatwave by Wednesday – making it hotter here than Ibiza!

According to reports, the wet and blustery weather will continue for today and tomorrow before the sun makes an appearance towards the end of the week.

It seems that June really is going to be the start of summer, with the warmer temperatures set to continue for most of the month.

Met Office forecaster Marco Petanga said: “It is a real contrast in weather from the early part to the end of the week. Today and tomorrow will be cool and often wet and windy.

“But then the high pressure starts to build across the UK and it certainly becomes very warm and locally hot in the South.

“Wednesday is the transition day from the unsettled to the better weather, with temperatures reaching around 20C (68F) in the South.”

And it gets even better as the best weather is being saved for the weekend, with Friday bringing an increase of strong sunshine.

What better reason for the BBQ to make an appearance on Saturday?
