Following last week’s particularly hot temperatures, the country was hit by a series of electrical storms over the weekend.

Shockingly, two people in Wales have lost their lives following lightening strikes during the freak weather.

The two separate incidents occurred in Brecon Beacons.

Neither of the victims’ names have been released, but it is understood that both were taken to nearby Prince Charles Hospital.

They confirmed on their Facebook page that two people had been killed by lightening strikes and two others injured.

Those left hurt by the lightening accidents are being treated for burns at Prince Charles and Morriston hospitals.

Prince Charles Hospital’s statement on Facebook read: “As a result of two separate lightning strikes today in the Brecon Beacons, we can confirm that two people have died, another has been transferred to Morriston Hospital because of burns and one other person continues to receive treatment at Prince Charles Hospital.”

The country is set for more heavy rain during the week before we're due to experience more hot weather towards the weekend.
