A man and woman have been charged with the murder of disabled woman Susan Whiting.

Steven Beard, 34 of Rowland Avenue, Bentley and Julie Beard, Heather Close, Dudley Fields will appear at Wolverhampton’s Magistrates’ Court on Saturday 22 August.

Susan, 20, who had learning disabilities, was studying hospitality and catering Walsall Adult and Community College.

She had stayed at a friend’s house overnight but was not there the next day when her mother came to collect her. Her family later reported her missing on Monday when she failed to come home.

Sadly her body was discovered a day later at another address in Walsall, with a post mortem showing she had died as a result of head injuries.
