Former insurance worker Marie Black, 34, was placed in prison for life after being found guilty of running a child sex ring over six years.
Together with her ex-husband, Jason Adams, and former boyfriend Michael Rogers, 53, Marie held abuse parties where adults would pass children around ‘like toys.’
Black was convicted of 23 offences, including rape, conspiracy to rape, and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
Both her and Rogers were sentenced to 24 years without the possibility of parole for 16 years.
The judge in the case, Nicholas Coleman, said it was the ‘most harrowing’ he had ever had the misfortune of trying.
‘Your conduct towards these children can only be described as utterly depraved - the children were subjected to sexual abuse of the worst kind,’ he said.
The court heard how a ‘veneer of respectability’ was created, as the adults would play card games and the like to decide who would abuse the child.
It was also suggested Black would travel around the country to ‘raffle off’ children to those who wanted to use them as their sexual play things.
Sobbing uncontrollably as the verdict was delivered, Black could be heard saying she had been ‘stitched up.’
In custody she has already been moved several times due to death threats.
