Tragic Charlotte Bevan ‘was scared baby would be taken away’

A mother found dead in Bristol was reportedly ‘scared her baby would be taken away’.

Charlotte, who had a history of mental illness, was allegedly terrified that her newborn daughter, Zaani, would be taken out of her care.

The new mother walked out of a maternity hospital in Bristol with her baby in a pair of hospital slippers.

Despite an extensive search for her and the baby, Charlotte’s body was found in a gorge beneath the Clifton Suspension Bridge last week.

Her daughter’s body was tragically found on the side of a cliff just yards from where Charlotte’s remains were discovered.

A source told The Sun: "Charlotte was closely monitored throughout her pregnancy and had three referrals from midwives throughout her pregnancy.

"But she was clearly distraught by the time she left the hospital."

Charlotte’s mother Rachel Fortune said following the tragic deaths: “My beautiful daughter and granddaughter are now at peace.”
