We've all read the story of Dogger at some point in our lives (and, if you haven't, you really need to!) , so we all know how traumatising it can be for a young child to lose their most treasured toy.
However, when 18-month-old Maddie lost Pink Bunny on a trip to the seaside, help was at hand to make sure her floppy-eared friend made her way home safely.
Holidaymaker Debbie Hitchins found the lost bunny and decided to launch a worldwide campaign to return her to her rightful owner. Making Debbie, in our opinion, one of the coolest people ever.
Debbie posted a heartwrenching picture of Pink Bunny to Facebook, along with the message: “Please share this photo and help him get back to the little person who loves and cuddles him.”
Are you ready for this?
Our hearts just melted a little bit.
And, as if things couldn't get any cuter, she also posted snaps of the rabbit on day trips with her six kids as they enjoyed a break around the West Country.
Where, despite the beautiful scenery, the toy looked oddly woebegone as it stared out into the deep void, mind clearly elsewhere...
Unsurprisingly, Debbie's plea went viral and was shared a whopping 30,000 times in 24 hours before Maddie’s parents spotted it.
Maddie's mum Sarah told **a UK newspaper: “When we saw Deborah’s appeal we were gobsmacked — it was so generous.”
But it was all in a day's work for everyday superhero Debbie, who said “I just wanted to get him home."
We've no doubt the safe arrival of Pink Bunny put a smile back on little Maddie's face!
