Several gas bombs were thrown into an industrial site this morning, causing injuries to many in the area, and a man’s decapitated body has also been found at the entrance to the industrial site.

The dead man’s head was found about 30 metres away with Arabic inscriptions on it.

A 30-year-old man who is ‘known to security services’ in the area has already been arrested, telling police that he is a member of ISIS.

Witnesses say the perpetrators were carrying Islamist flags at the scene, where they threw gas cylinders around the main industrial yard, injuring dozens.

The attacks, that took place near the city of Lyon, have shocked France, just a few months after a series of horrific killings that left 17 people dead.

Though not part of ISIS, the perpetrators of the original Charlie Hebdo attack identified themselves with Al Quaeda, and carried out a planned assassination of 11 employees of the satirical magazine.

Several others were also killed during the attacks, which lasted several days and took place in and around Paris.

French president Hollande is now returning from the EU summit to be with his country, whereas Interior Minister Bernard Cazeneuve is on his way to the scene this morning.
