A film crew tracking sharks for a TV documentary were left with more than they bargained for after they got a little bit too close to a Great White.

Shark experts Jeff Kurr and Andy Casagrande soon found themselves surrounded as they paddled their boat out to sea off the coast of New Zealand.

In heart-pounding footage, the sharks are seen snapping their jaws at the bottom of the boat.

A New Zealand MP has made calls for such practices to be prohibited through fears that the sharks may become more aggressive towards humans.

MP Clayton Mitchell said: “When you start bringing the sharks in close to your boat for the thrill-seekers, like any animal their behaviour becomes modified.”
