The 48-year-old opened up to Closer about her role in 16-year-old daughter Emerson's life.
When asked whether she would mind if Emerson took the same career path as her mum, she revealed she is open to her daughter's choices and sees her role as 'providing the tools' to give her daughter the best foundations to base her choices on.
The Superman star also admitted that while she doesn't necessarily belive in the school grading system, she ensures Emerson takes her studies seriously.
And it seems she may have a little writer on her hands, admitting: 'She's most passionate about writing and I think telling stories is a really empowering field. She's compassionate, well-travelled and works on all my charity work with me.. so those are all ideas that are bubbling in her young mind.'
