As Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams battle it out for their place in the final, tensions are sure to rise between the fiery American and stony faced Russian, who have also loved the same man.

Sharapova’s current boyfriend, Grigor Dimitrov, reportedly dated Serena Williams before the Russian, meaning there is obviously going to be friction between these two sportswomen on the court today.

In fact, Serena even made veiled comments in an interview with Rolling Stone, where she seemed to refer to Sharapova.

‘There are people who live, breathe and dress tennis. I mean, seriously, give it a rest’ she said.

‘She begins every interview with ‘I’m so happy. I’m so lucky’ – it’s so boring,’

‘She’s still not going to be invited to the cool parties. And, hey, if she wants to be with the guy with a black heart, go for it.’

24-year-old tennis pro Grigor was himself competing at Wimbledon this year, but got knocked out by Richard Gasquet on Wednesday.

As for the ladies, these two have faced each other 17 times over their tennis careers - with Sharapova only winning two of these matches (most famously in 2004, when she won Wimbledon beating her.)

Tune in to Wimbledon at 3PM today to watch what is sure to be an explosive game of tennis!
