The girl, who is now fighting for her life in hospital, was believed to have been ‘possessed by the devil’ - and shockingly her own family organised the ritual.
Her own sister is the one said to have used a knife to cut out her eyes, in order to ‘cure’ her sibling of her demons.
The horrific attack occurred in General Pinedo, north Argentina, where the sister has now been arrested for her crimes.
She told police that her sister would have visions and so - using the logic that demons are scared of pain - they decided to inflict some on her in order to scare them off.
Doctors also observed she had injuries to her genital area, leading to them believing she was also gang raped.
Her parents told police that their daughter continuously saw animals that weren’t there, which led to their conclusion that she was possessed by the devil.
They then asked a local pastor to help them cure her.
Police Commissioner Pablo Almiron said: ‘It is the first time in 22 year of my career in the police to have an event of this nature.’
