The incident began on Facebook, after 20-year-old mother to be Nathaly Cartas Leon searched for nursery items online.
She was contacted by 17-year-old Guadalupe Salinas Hernandez and the pair became online friends, speaking for months before deciding to meet up.
Pregnant Nathaly went to meet Guadalupe at her home, but was greeted by a hard hit on the head on her arrival, and was then subjected to a horrifying procedure.
The teenage girl proceeded to cut Nathaly’s unborn baby from her body.
Nathaly died from her wounds, and the baby suffocated in the womb of its dead mother.
When questioned by police in Reynosa, Mexico, Hernandez confessed to her crimes, and the body of her online acquaintance was eventually found.
It later came out that Hernandez had decided to have an abortion when she fell pregnant, a decision which she regretted. She was allegedly jealous of her pregnant friend and this led to her horrifying actions.
