Earlier today (Friday 15 April), Alison Stainthorpe, who suffers from a mild form of Alzheimer's Disease, was found safe and well in Eastbourne, having been missing from her home since Thursday morning.

She had said that she was going to the Odeon cinema in West Street, Brighton, when she left her house in Rottingdean at 10am on Thursday (14 April).

She told her family that she would be back later that afternoon.

However the 65-year-old did not attend the film, and had not been seen since she got a number 12 bus from Brighton’s Old Steine travelling towards Eastbourne.

Alison only had £10 on her, and her family said that it was completely out of character for her to disappear like this.

However, due to her illness, there is a chance that she may have become disorientated.

Inspector James Davidson said: "We are concerned for Alison as she hasn't returned home as usual.

“If anyone has seen her please let us know."

A friend of the family told us: “Her husband and two daughters just want her home.”

Alison is described as being a slim blonde woman, of around 5' 6" in height.

On the day she went missing, she was wearing a three-quarter-length maroon puffa jacket, dark blue jeans, and white trainers.

She was also carrying a blue and white striped bag.
